If we are too biased toward the way of life in the past when material values were emphasized, it may be a really difficult world to live in. As I have said many times, how you adjust to the flow of nature is an important guideline for living.

Every year, a newsletter arrives from Naritasan Shinshoji Temple in Narita, Chiba Prefecture.
I found an interesting article in it, so let me share it.

The etymology of the phrase "Aun's breath" is said to be a kanji representation of the Brahma characters A and Hoon, which were introduced to Japan during the Nara Dynasty. It is explained that "阿" is the first sound to be uttered with the mouth open, and "吽" is the sound uttered with the mouth closed, with the former being the first of the letters and the latter being the last sound. From this, it is said that "Aun" symbolizes the beginning and the end of all things.

There has also been an interpretation that grasps the meaning of "A" in the breath and "吽" in the sense of breathing.
From the meaning that the exhaled breath and the inhaled breath match each other perfectly, it has also come to mean that the hearts of the two respond to each other. When you visit the shrine, you will notice that there are komainu dogs on both sides of the approach.
One of these dogs has its mouth open and the other has its mouth closed. In the same way, the Nioh-sama, who stands at the Niomon Gate and protects the Buddhist Dharma, has an open mouth called "Agata" and a closed mouth called "Agata".

In our daily lives, we all want to live with competition and vitality.
