The other day, I went to Dewa Sanzan in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture, including work and private life
I went there under the title of "The Journey of Reincarnation".

As you can read, the three mountains of Dewa are a general term for the three sacred mountains in mountain worship.

Mt. Moon (past)
Mt. Yudono (Future)
In the sense that you can be reborn in this world by visiting the three mountains
It has been said since the Edo period that it is a "journey of reincarnation".
This is considered to be a sacred place comparable to Ise Jingu, and because it exists in the east, it is called "the back of the east".
It is said that there was even a custom that people who believed that worship forms a pair, taking Ise Jingu as the yang and the three mountains of Dewa as the yin, and that "you should always accomplish the worship of the east and west once in your life."

The purpose of this trip is twofold.
The first stop is Mt. Haguro (414m), a mountain in the "present" that is said to wish for happiness in this world
At the top of the mountain is the Dewa Sanzan Shrine.
